This unique dish is prepared with grape, cabbage or chard leaves. The term sarma comes from the Turkish word “sarmak” which means to wrap or to roll. It can either be presented by wrapping around rice or spicy rice (vegetarian) or with rice and meat. Both are mouth watering as they have their own taste.
The texture gets shiny and makes it even more delicious once olive oil is gently poured over it. It mainly goes well with rice and Cacik (yoghurt fused with cucumber and onion particles).
