Taksim Square is the most recognisable city centre of Istanbul. Surrounded by hotels, restaurants, bars, night clubs, cafes. shopping stores and many more. The square has vintage and iconic tram travelling around and making it east to access. The square is also a meeting place to celebrate New Year’s Eve, parades, concerts, street art, music and many more. The independence monument is the most important establishment in the square. It was erected in honour of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the first president of Turkey, hence why it carries immense importance.
