HISTORY

Kusadasi was founded by the Lelegians and Carians who moved from Central Anatolia around the year if 3000 B.C. They established their colonial towns on the skirts of Pilav Mountain in Kusadasi.  The city was overwhelmed during an attack by the Persians in the year of 546 B.C. Many years later, the city came under the rule of Byzantine Empire. Ephesus was destroyed due to change in the climate and an earth quake. Ephesus could not be restored to its former prosperity and that why Kusadasi was next in line to shine. Turkish Domination started with the Seljuk Sultan called “Kilic Arslan” came to power. Today, Kusadasi is a haven for tourists to sink away their stress and enjoy the sun.
